Friday Night Overdrive

Friday Night Overdrive is a program designed for young people in the Ignacio community to have a fun and positive place to go on Friday nights. Bring your favorite music and sign up to DJ Overdrive. Vertical Limit

The Vertical Limit program allows young people to participate in fun activities and events that they might not be able to do on their own. Some events include: dinner and bowling, camping in Moab, going to the skate park, and paintball. For information on what's happening, go to the Ignacio Teen Center's MySpace page.

Peace Jam Club

Peace Jam, one person really can make a difference, is an international program built around learned Nobel Peace Laureates who work personally with you. Our goal is to improve the community through fulfilling unmet needs—whether it's a teen center, a skate park, an advisory group of youth running youth programs, or raising money for people in need around the world. Ski and Ride Club

The Ski and Ride Club was created for skiers and snowboarders who love to be on the mountian. For information on what's happening and a schedule of events, go to the Ignacio Teen Center's MySpace page.

Ignacio After Prom

Ignacio After Prom is a fun filled night of exciting activities for high school students. Freshman, sophomores and guests (students not attending Ignacio High school that have an IHS sponsor present) must bring a signed SUCAP Waiver.

LaPlata County Step-It-Up Prevention Coalition

Vision: Healthy, Engaged, Substance Free Youth

Mission: To reduce substance abuse among youth by creating a continuum of prevention services, education and positive youth development activities

Formed in 2001, coalition efforts include policy change, social marketing, strategic planning, events, networking involvement, and more. The coalition is made up of local citizens who are committed to making a difference among the local youth.  Members include representatives from SUCAP Youth Services, La Plata Youth Services, San Juan Basin Health Department, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Children, Youth & Family Master Plan Transition Team, local school districts, law enforcement agencies, youth, healthcare professionals, youth serving organizations and more.

The La Plata County Step-It-Up Prevention Coalition is supported by a grant from the federal Drug Free Community Support Program
