a division of Southern Ute Community Action Programs, Inc.
The Southern Ute Montessori Head Start and Early Head Start serve children and their families ages birth to age five. The program is operated in partnership with the Southern Ute Indian Tribe. The Tribe is the grantee; SUCAP is the delegate agency.
The program's mission:
We respect the uniqueness of each child and family in our diverse community. We unconditionally accept and value each child and family. We support their growth toward becoming successful, responsible citizens.
To meet the mission fully, the program has gone beyond the standard Head Start and Early Head Start program models. These enhancements include:
Head Start serves 95+ children and their families.
Early Head Start serves some 32 children plus their families, and, on average, eight pregnant women.
