The citizens of La Plata County have formed the
Step It Up Coalition, with support from a federal Drug Free Community
Support Program grant. Coalition participating agencies
and individuals make the Coalition:
SUCAP Youth Services, La Plata Youth Services, San Juan Basin Health
Department, Community Connections, Big Brothers Big Sisters, La Plata
County's school districts and the Durango Latino Education Coalition
collaborate with other community members, youth and laws to
create a positive and drug-free environment for La Plata's youth.
The Coalition supports the
following programs, projects and movements;
