The Ignacio Senior Center honors and supports the elders and seniors of the Ignacio area who built the community and supported succeeding generations.  The Senior Center is dedicated to helping senior citizens live independently and avoid hospitalization for as long as possible.

The mission of the Ignacio Senior Center is

To provide services to the senior citizens of the Southern Ute Reservation, the town of Ignacio, and the surrounding area. The program will serve those with the greatest economic and social need, including those who are low-income, the frail and impaired, the geographically and socially isolated, and the non-English speaking to improve their quality of life by fostering an environment of dignity and pride.

This purpose is accomplished through several core activities:

·        Congregate meals

·        Meals on wheels

·        Group outings

·        Eldercize

·        Adult Day Care

·        Errands and transportation
